Ana: Volar sin alas
In a remote village in the high Andes of Ecuador, it seems time has stopped.
But for one of its residents, time is flying: Ana Farinango must hurry to deliver her roses to her buyer.
A year ago, she started a greenhouse, and what began as a dream is often not so pretty in practice.
Does the progress Ana imagined, really mean a step forward?

Desde los años 90, la industria de flores es un fenómeno común en la Sierra norte de Ecuador. Son empresas que hacen negocios millonarios aprovechando de los recursos agua, suelo, sol ecuatorial y la mano de obra de la población local. Con este documental tenemos la oportunidad de conocer un proceso nuevo que se está dando en la región, pues ya no solo son los grandes empresarios que producen flores, en muchos lugares se observa la construcción de pequeños invernaderos de agricultores locales.
How does this process unfold? What consequences does it have for the sector, the population, water, and land use? These questions were the basis for the documentary "Ana Volar Sin Alas." It is the story of a brave, persevering, and hardworking woman who lives with her family in a small town not far from the city of Cayambe, in the province of Pichincha, Ecuador.
